IELTS General Writing Task 1 | Letter to Landlord (Band 9 Answer)

IELTS General Writing Task 1

Your landlord recently did some repairs in your apartment but there are still problems. Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter:
  • Thank him/her for doing the recent repairs
  • Explain to him/her what problems still exist
  • State what you would like him/her to do.

Example Answer

Dear [Landlord's name],

I am writing to thank you for recently arranging repairs in the apartment. I appreciate your promptness in addressing the leaky faucet and faulty electrical wiring issues.

Unfortunately, there appear to be some outstanding issues that require further attention. The faucet still drips occasionally, especially when hot water is running, no matter how tightly I turn it off. And there seems to be a persistent flickering in the overhead light fixture in the living room. One last thing, the door on the cupboard in the kitchen under the sink, which the repair man removed to access the faucet, does not close properly now.

I would be grateful if you could send a repair person back to the flat at your earliest convenience to address these remaining problems. My availability is flexible, so please let me know a suitable time to arrange access to the flat.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
