However, focusing solely on local history would result in a narrow perspective and limit students' understanding of the world. Knowledge of world history is essential to comprehend the interconnectedness of nations, the causes and consequences of global events, and the diverse perspectives that shape our world today. By studying world history, students gain a broader context for understanding their own society and recognizing the similarities and differences among cultures. For instance, learning about World War II not only provides insights into the impact of the war on individual nations but also highlights the importance of international cooperation and peacekeeping efforts in preventing future conflicts.

Moreover, a comprehensive understanding of history fosters critical thinking skills and encourages students to analyze different viewpoints. By examining both local and world history, students are exposed to various historical narratives, biases, and interpretations. This exposure enables them to develop a more nuanced and informed perspective, enhancing their analytical and evaluative abilities.
