Can you talk about an important thing that you have kept in your family for a long time?
An important thing that has been kept in my family for a long time is a small wooden box given to my great-grandfather many years ago. Inside the box are a pocket watch, a gold ring, and a photograph of my great-grandfather's parents.
This box is very special to me because it represents my family's history. The items inside have been passed down from generation to generation, and each time they are given to a new person, they come with a story. I love hearing these stories because they help me to understand where I come from.
The pocket watch was given to my great-grandfather by his father. It was a gift for getting good grades in school. My great-grandfather cherished this watch and kept it in the box for many years.
The gold ring was given to my great-grandmother by her father. He had found it on the beach while they were vacationing together. It was a special moment for them and she always wore the ring on her right hand.
The photograph is of my great-grandparents when they were young. They met in school and fell in love immediately. They were married for 60 years before my great-grandfather passed away.
This box is more than just a box of things for my family. It is a box of memories. Every time we look at it, we remember our history and the people who have come before us. The box represents the love that has existed within our family through the generations.

Talk about something which you and your family have had for a long time
Okay, so we’ve had something quite special in our family for some time now. It’s a classic car, a Jaguar, which was brought over from England when my grandfather bought it. He originally brought it back with him in the 1950s and it’s been in our family ever since.
My grandfather used to drive it all the time and my father learned to drive in this car, so it has quite a lot of sentimental value for us as a family. Although we don’t use it for everyday driving nowadays, we still take it out sometimes to exhibit at special car shows.
When my grandfather died, my father inherited the car and decided to keep it and restore it. Apparently, it was still in very good condition in general but it needed some specialist restoration work done on the engine. I can remember when I was a child watching my father do some work on it – I had no idea what he was doing at the time but as I got older he used to explain to me the different things he was doing such as checking the oil or replacing a part in the engine compartment.
As a boy, I actually learned quite a lot about cars from watching my father work on the old Jaguar. Obviously, nowadays cars are completely different, with a lot more electronics and technology included and it’s not always so easy to work on them yourself, but back in the past, it was a common thing for men to do maintenance or repairs on their own cars because the mechanics and electrical systems were much simpler.
As for the future of the car, well, I think it will always be in our family. It’s an important part of our family story now, as it’s been passed down from generation to generation.
Also, my mother loves the car because it’s so elegant and she loves things from that period of history, and she would never want to sell it, so I guess we’ll maintain the tradition and keep looking after it and exhibiting it so that other people can also enjoy it. It’s quite rare now, so most people who see it get quite excited about it.
